A Connected Approach: MasterMind® and Platform Science® in Action

Managing a fleet today means navigating complexity at scale, where decisions must happen faster, data needs to move between systems seamlessly, and service cannot be sacrificed. MasterMind partnered with Platform Science to deliver a high-tech, high-impact solution to validate drivers, streamline pay activities, and enhance route planning and visibility. The impact of the integration can be seen across three key areas: smarter planning, better communication, and more accurate execution. Phase one of this integration was launched in August 2024 and is being used today by thousands of drivers across North America.
Smarter Driver Validations:
- Driver managers can see drivers’ live Hours of Service, cycle time, drive time, and system calculated projections (PTAs) directly in MasterMind.
- Managers have visibility to driver schedules and their PTO requests to make sure they are planning drivers efficiently.
- Based on driver hours and activities, managers have better visibility to current routes and projected routes to ensure service requirements are met. By linking route assignments, projections, and ETAs, continuity can be created across execution.
Two-Way Driver Communication
- Drivers can communicate and make requests via a messaging feature in Platform Science to feed directly into the Fleet and Driver Management System.
Real-Time Load Execution
- API-powered data sharing between systems enables real-time transfer of critical shipment information.
- Optimize on-time deliveries with accurate ETAs, minimizing downtime, and improving coordination across delivery locations.
What Benefits are Fleets Seeing Today with the MasterMind and Platform Science integration?
Enhanced Compliance – Real-time Hours of Service tracking ensures regulatory adherence by providing accurate, up-to-the-minute data. Driver managers and dispatchers can stay within MasterMind, eliminating the need to switch between systems to access critical compliance information.
Maximized Route Efficiency – Live ETAs improve utilization, coordination, and create more efficient delivery schedules.
Enhanced Driver Satisfaction – Direct communication with managers, optimized routes, and accurate pay activities and PTO tracking improve the driver experience.
Empowering Fleets with Configurable Workflows: The Next Evolution of Mastery and Platform Science Integration
The next phase of Mastery’s integration with Platform Science marks a transformative shift, enabling fleets to take full control of driver workflows without the need for custom code or professional services. At the heart of this evolution is MasterMind’s Minion, a powerful low-code configuration tool that puts operational control directly in the hands of its users – a differentiator in the modern TMS space.
With Minion, customers can rapidly adapt their production environments, tailoring workflows to their needs without relying on developers. This allows fleets to implement precise, dynamic changes at scale, meeting them with the flexibility and autonomy they need to thrive and be agile with changing business needs.
Instead of relying on rigid, hardcoded rules, teams will soon be able to configure key operational elements, such as when driver instructions are triggered, which tasks align with specific stop types, and how data flows seamlessly back into the TMS. All of this will be easily managed through Minion’s intuitive configuration portal.
For instance, a return event can now trigger a sequence of automated actions: dispatching a driver instruction, updating the load status, and syncing real-time data back into MasterMind—all without writing a single line of code. Fleets will also gain clear visibility into how data maps across systems, making it faster and simpler to adjust and scale operations. The move from static workflows to fully configurable operations empower fleets with greater autonomy, deeper visibility, and unprecedented control. These features are slated for release in Q3 2025 and will be rolled out with leading fleets, including Schneider.
